Job Description
1) Responsible for the planning, budgeting and forecasting functions.
2) Initiate, stimulate and control the annual Business Planning & Budgeting cycle.
3) Devise the methodology and targets for the preparation of detailed budgets.
4) Preparation and review of Capital Expenditure plans/ Project control and analyze the investment process of CAPEX/ Project in line with the budgeted figures.
5) Preparation of Management accounts and Reports, Competitive review & Peer Analysis.
6) Monitoring the compliance to the budgetary plans and conducting variance analysis and its periodical reporting to the management committee.
7) Puts up recommendations to the Management Committee concerning financial and operational results, problems, issues, trends etc.
Conducts financial modeling of ‘what if’ scenarios to help future business planning decisions in the areas such as new marketing strategies, new product development, etc.
9) Monitors the costs and the accountability of the cost centre have and profit centers.
10) Promote a strong financial control and cost control within the business units of the company.
11) Reviews processes and systems in the light of business requirements and identifies changes that are necessary to control the costs and risks and to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations.
12) Support the Management Committee in the development and implementation of new management concepts (Balance scorecard, risk management, value based management, etc)
Desired Candidate Profile
1) Strong financial control, reporting, technical and analytical skills
2) Should be well conversant with the financial accounting and management and cost accounting.
3) Should have in-depth knowledge of various requirements under the Companies Act, 1956, Insurance Act, IRDA, direct tax laws, Accounting Standards and Practices, GAAP, IFRS, etc.,
4) Management skills and ability to supervise a team of qualified finance professionals
5) Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
6) A minimum of 5-7 years experience in the field of Finance.
7) Hands-on experience in an insurance company is preferable.
