Job Profile
Assist in the completion and revision of new audit programs as necessary to evaluate the adequacy of internal controls; determine compliance with company policies, procedures, applicable laws and regulations and contractual agreements.
Perform audit procedures in accordance with audit objectives and audit programs and generate workpapers documenting work performed.
Assist in identifying control issues and audit findings through the course of audit work performed.
Document processes as necessary to assist in risk and control identification (includes interviewing employees, reviewing policies and procedures and performing walkthroughs of transactions and processes.)
Design detail audit test steps from control matrices and walkthrough narratives.
Write narratives of work performed and findings.
Desired Candidate Profile
Key attributes of the individual
CA degree required. CA Inter.s with exceptional audit experience would also be considered
Around 5 years of accounting or audit experience, preferably in the financial services industry
Experience required in operations, accounting or auditing, preferably in hedge fund administration and/or financial services organizations.
Knowledge of capital markets products, accounting for hedge fund products is desirable
Ability to independently assess the effectiveness of controls and determine the potential impact of control issues and the corrective action required
Capability to successfully coordinate and lead an audit team from inception to completion while working on multiple projects
Sound judgment and decision making skills
Strong written and verbal skills
Strong desire to make a career in internal audit
